Hey guys... I am new the the analog only board. I have been recording for about 6 years, only using digital equipment. 6 years, and thousands of dollars later, I am ready for somthing different. I loved the post on here where someone says people get upset when their tube and vintage equipment sounds bad digitally. I am getting the same thing, take after take.....its not that it sounds "bad", just lacks the warmth that I crave.
Now on to the fun stuff. I am obviously wanting to get into this stuff... I have located a couple of reel to reels (a TEAC A-3340s, and a Tascam 38 8track) what do you guys recommed for equipment. Most of my recording was done on a computer or an All in one recording unit, so Im not too familiar with how you would set up a signal chain to one of these recorders (ex. Mics > Mixer>recorder?) If someone would just be so kind as too point me toward some basic information on this subject. Im very excited about the prospect of recording analog, and using this board.
Thanks in advance!
Brandon
