Everything I have recorded has been in mono. I dont have a book on recording or I would read up on it. How do I go about recording in Stereo? I have an adat, if I record in
stereo wont this cut my tracks in half? Can you take a mono
track in the computer and copy it into another track and do
whatever is necessary to obtain stereo? I can dump my tracks
via my pcr card into the puter. I think I know when you use
mics for stereo recording you need 2 or a stereo mic; how about when going direct?

Thank you Emeric, I read the posts and they helped alot. I did record one of my solos twice and panned each off center
l/r and the fullness of the solo was very much enhanced but it did use up the extra track, so I guess it is a tradeoff. I will have to experiment more once I am set up again.
Thanx again. I think you listened to that particular tune.
Can anyone reccomend an inexpensive book on home recording that is not filled with all kinds of technical bullshit and
shoots more to the practicle side and wont cost 50.00 bucks.

Craig Anderton writes for EQ mag and I think Guitar Player and he has a good book out called Home Recording for Musicians or something like that.Dunno the price, but I know Craig puts out new editions of the book regularly to stay on the bleeding edge.
