Hey there. I'm new to recording, and everything alike. I have an SM58, and a Steinberg CI 1 Audio Interface.
I was just wondering how I can get the best out of what I have. Any tips will be welcomed. I'm basically just using this (right now) for vocals.

Programs I have:
Audacity
Garageband
WaveLab LE7
Sequel LE7.

I don't have the money to buy new equipment/programs.

Thank you for any help.

Sorry if this is in the wrong board.

Try down loading Reaper HERE and check that out as your DAW.
It's a free trial full program that isn't cpu hungry at all.

I think you'll like it.

Sweet, I downloaded that and I will try it out when I wake up. I've been using Garageband for vocals ever since I got my Mac, and I'm still not too sure on what effects to place on vocals.

The vocals that I do are clean singing, and screaming.

Does anyone know what would be best for those two types?

I've been in the same spot. Using Garageband, it's been nice to get started in DAW recording but tired of being frustrated. Thinking about upgrading to Logic Pro or Reason 6. Reaper was nice, and cheap, but looks too techy for me. I don't want to push code, I just want to record. Good Luck!
