So I've recently bought the Audiophile 192 only to learn that there's more than just 3.5mm (1/8") cables out there in the real world. But I'm not going to toss the $200 PC speakers away because of it. So I've been looking for solutions.
The S/PDIF itself looks pretty complicated enough so I don't really know how to use that. That's why I'm only going to mess with the Analog 1/4" TRS jacks.
I've read from a site where a solution is possible:
1.) PCI CARD ---- 1/4" TRS Female
2.) 1/4" TRS Male mono ---- 1 RCA female
3.) 2 X RCA male (goes to each mono) ---- 3.5mm male
4.) 3.5mm female ---- 3.5mm female
5.) 3.5mm male ---- PC Speakers
(in that order) where ---- are cables.
The part with 3.5mm F / 3.5mm F (cable 4) seems quite redundant since I've have luck finding cables that can go from cable 3 to cable 5 (RCA male / 3.5mm female).
Unfortunately, the hardest cable to find (where I live) is the one in 2). Bestbuy doesn't seem to have anything on this either (last I checked)
So I was just wondering if an alternate solution
1.) PCI Card ---- 1/4" TRS Female
2.) 1/4" TRS Male mono ---- 3.5mm female
3.) 3.5mm male mono ---- RCA female
4.) 2 X RCA female ---- 3.5mm female
5.) 3.5mm male ---- PC Speakers
Would this one work as well?
Or would anyone like to shed some lights on me with the S/PDIF solutions?
Thanks.
