New to Pc Recordings!!

Hi Forum Mates! I have just turned to Pc Recordings.Is it necessary to have an amp or preamp or a mixer attached to a PC for better results.If yes which one will you prefer.
Presently I am suing Sound blasrer sound card and sony vegas 5.0 recording software.

Please help me out.

i would say yes for best results but then the next question is what are you prepared to spend??

and then you will get quite a few options.

however if you just want to get going and do all the warming up in the pc for the time being ..well thats not so bad.

A Sound Blaster card has it's purpose, unfortunately recording music is not it. Sure it will work but the quality of recordings will suffer. At the very least get a 2 chanel USB interface for better sound and fewer latency issues.
