I got a free? copy of CUBASE LE5 with my Zoom r-16...but I have nbot tried to master with it...any resources or tips or advice available out here in the forum? thx

Mastering is a technique not really tailored to a spec device (in context). You can master with cubase although it is not ideal. As i hate to say might want to read a bit more an mastering 1st since you do have the tools to attempt a DIY master.
