Hi everyone,
I am Matt from the band Pyramis, I always go by lump or lumper, even in the band.
I have been writing songs now since 1982 or so.
My current project Pyramis is an original music band in the hard rock to modern rock / metal genre.
I have written for acoustic bands that I have produced, as well as medium to light rock bands and clean channel only bands.
This time around I am getting a little nastier with the music and going for all out fun with a balance of meaningful lyrics and heavy guitar lines.
on our site we have a few sound bites from when i started this latest project about 2 years ago, since then we have changed bass players, and two drummers as well as added a second guitar so they arent much like that anymore, but it is a little preview.
We actualy just recorded a demo for potential bass players that we will most likely post in place of the existing samples but for now.....

I thought I would introduce myself as I can see I will be on the site quite often.
I am currently preparing a new practice room which is what led me to the site in the first place and I have posted regarding that in another section.
I like the section for songwriters and hope to meet some like minded individuals as songwriters seem to be often cut from the same cloth.
I write about almost any topic but usualy more of a feeling than a topic that I want to convey to the listener and hope that feeling will relate to them in a personal way.
I was recently given what I consider a pretty powerful compliment when a local group of guys appeared at an open mic and covered three of my songs to a pleased crowd who recieved them better than any of the covers they also played, I felt like a proud parent, lol.
Anyway thats it, wanted to say hello and introduce myself to the community hope to get to know some cool people here and learn some things along the way.
