Hi,
I use a Radio Shack Cat 32-8210 (DSM-8040) 5 channel mixer to record my radio program at home. I use a very inexpensive Realistic mic into it which gives (I think) good results.
I have been unable to find my owners manual for the mixer, and am wondering if anyone would know the mic impedance for the mixer? or would be able to email a spec sheet for the mixer to bluesbeat@granite.net.au please
I am considering looking for a better mic or headset/mic and am open to suggestions from more experienced users who do the same.
I would like to know the impedance above so I can try and match the right mic, or do I need to use an impedance matcher as the mixer has only quarter inch inputs.
Any help appreciated

regards,
Geoff

1/4" mic jacks are for high impedance mics.

An expensive, low impedance mic wouldn't be worth it to use in that mixer. Even with the correct transformer/adapter.

You can get the specs for your mixer by calling RatShack and asking for the number to Faxback Document Retrieval service.
