Hello,
I recently aquired a rather powerful (but slightly old) beige G3 Mac (with 1 gig of RAM, 70 gigs of storage in a Raid 5 config)... but it is pre-usb and I don't really have a sound card for it.
I would really like to use this machine as a digital editor. I have the mackie MDR 24/96 24-track recorder... but it lacks a lot of editing features.
So... what would you recommend as far as an audio interface. My setup is this (mackie 32x8, mackie mdr, lots of outboard stuff).
Also... what are the standard practices in getting edited material *back* into the recorder (so that it may be mixed down).
I'm really new to this whole DAW thing... and my primary goal is to use it for editing.
Thanks for any help
