I have just got myself a midi keyboard and i want to get drum sounds to use in the drum editor but it just come up with whichevery sound i have selected on my midi controller

can anyone help?

Sorry.... a little more detail is required. You're using a midi cable, and not an audio cable, yes? Is Cubase set up to recognize your controller, and using the associated patch-name script for your controller? If that's the case, everything is as it should be.

Tell us more about what you're using, how you have it set up, and what you're doing with it, and we'll get you sorted out.

sorry this is a bit in depth.yes im using a midi cable. the rest is a little to hard. can you help? this is prob where im gouing wrong

are you listening to the audio from your keyboard or the computer? If from the computer,

Hit F11 to bring up the VST instrument panel. Click on one of the slots and bring up the LM7 drum machine. Click the pads on the LM7. Do you hear sound? If not, make sure you have the right audio drivers selected and have your speakers connected to the proper outputs on your soundcard. If you do hear sound...

Click on the MIDI track that you (hopefully) have opened. Make sure that the input is set to whatever midi input you have connected your keyboard to. If you see a green bar move on the track when you touch a key, then you are good to go.

Now set the output of the track to the LM7 and you should be getting drum sounds when you touch the keys on the lowest octave of your keyboard or so.
