hi, i just bought recording equipment recently and cakewalk but i cant get it to record for some reason. i am using a peavey PV8 8 channel mixing board, M-Audio FastTrack Guitar/Mic interface to connect the mixing board to the computer and cakewalk home studio for recording. also just peavey 5 mic set for drums and a shure 58 for vocals but for some reason cakewalk won't record...i can get it to record stuff onto programs like soundforge but when i try and recod to cakewalk it just doesn't do anything...anybody know why or can help?
Well, I use Sonar, but generaly the rule is same, User Manual is the first place to read on, and I think you need to post more info about your setup. It's too many posibility. How do you config your HS? (Options-->Audio). What driver mode you use? (MME, KS/WDM, ASIO?), Have you arm track before recording? and so on...
The good sign is, if your Soundforge can record, then HS should be able too!
yeah i do arm record before recording..and i let it go for a while make some noise into the mics and then when i try and playback is just goes for like half a second then restarts as if i had stopped it. im new to this so im not sure what you mean by what drive mode do i use? if you could tell me how to configure that i could find out. actually i just went to options:audio and it was set as "use default" my soundcard is soundblast live wave device. also listed is m-audio fast track because thats what i use for my interface to connect the peavey board to the computer.
