..it's a bit of a heavy one...called Alter of insanity..this is the 1st mixdown, just wondering how it sounds to some fresh ears..
thanks!

Altar Of Insanity

Nice tone man...and the drums sound good. I'd dry the vox up some, or reduce the number of em you have....make them more straight up. Nice driving beat...and fun progression....really rockin man. Vocals are my only nit.....make them a bit more simple, and you got it.... :D

Sweeeeeeeet guitar tone man, sounds great with the drums too!
Sounds on my system that you could bring up the bass some still.
I like the heavier and darker sound here. Some building synth chords might even sound cool in some places too (I have NEVER gotten a synth to work in GTP3  )
The solo is NASTY, love it, maybe bring up the solo volume a bit, sounds a bit hidden to my ears.
Maybe a little more volume on the single tracked vox too.
This is real cool man, gets the head jamming, great heavy groove to this. Really dig it :D :D :D :D

Hey dogman, I don't know , I must have delusions of being Phil Spector or something...I keep on trying to make a "wall of sound" with my vocals" .I am gonna knock off some of the tracks and try and dry em out a bit, although I'm afraid some of it is my room I'm recording them in.I have some of those acoustic foam tile things that maybe would help on the walls, just haven't gotten around to putting them up.
Glad you dug the guitars...I used my Vax tuned down a whole step..kinda diffrent for me, but I really like the sludgy, grinding feel.
Thanks man!

Thanks Snakedog!I was kinda having ear fatigue when I put this up after tracking the guitar solo...probaly shoulda taken a day off and went back and mixed it.I think the whole thing is mixed a bit loud..I will adjust those levels and try and bring the bass and solo out a bit.
Thanks alot for listening!

Tight guitar playing. I'd bring the snare down a touch and give the guitars a bit more low end. Great solo.

Here is a remix , tried to address some of the level issues.

Alter Of Insanity - Remix

Cool, definitely hear some more bass and solo in there. I'm obviously no vocal expert, but they sound pretty good to me now, I like the change up in vocal sound at 1:12. Yeah, cool track especially like the guitar tones

Lets see....Better man, but I would still like to hear your voice more natural....You got a decent voice man, run with it. This is a good tune...nice tones, and a very catchy rhythm....use the vocal style similar to the one that is in the background at times....the dry one. It will kick in this tune. Honest. :D

I dig it much...like I said, it's catchy. Fix them vox man....give it a more natural sound, and you have this nailed.

Very British sound to the vocals.

As always the guitar is excellent.

No problems - I just like this one.....

A definite download.......

:) :D :) :D

Thanks Dogman...I did try and make the vox more natural and presant...ther e is no verb or echo on em...what I do have tho', is 2 tracks of the same vocal and I nudged one of the tracks just a bit so it kinda sounds doubled...maybe thats what you are talking about? My room also is not to ideal for vocals...gonna do some work on the walls this weekend to see if that will help.
Gonna keep working on it...I really appreciate your feedback....Thanx man!

Thanks dude...Yeah, I'm definetly influenced by British rock ...especially glam rock from the 70's like T-Rex, Slade, Sweet ,Bowie, etc...
Glad you dug it!

I can't play the file in windows media file - bummer.

Sorry dude...Soundclick is a pain in the ass sometimes...if you still want, you can go to my music page and pick which way you wanna listen to it (stream, download etc..)
Here is a link to my music page...the song is about 1/2 way down.
Thanks for trying!

There's something wrong with Soundclick's dowload files. The same thing happened to me with Snakedog's tune. Realplayer tells me it can't find the file. I don't get it. But I don't know why you guys don't just put the link to the Soundclick player. That way, it opens right away. Anyway, I know the problem's on my end, since others have commented. But it only happens with SOundclick download for some reason.

Rami, you have to save the file to desktop and then open it. Mine has a can't find codec thing if I just try to open it.

I think drums could come up a tad... Vox could go down a few. Less effects on the vox too... I should take the less effects on the vox thing to me also, I usually overload mine with effects too and or doubling, trippling, quad...

Like the solo, reminds me of Sabbath, the way it is played.

Thanx alot, Manx. I can't now because I'm not at my own computer right now, but that's good to know. In that case, I think it would be better to take people to the hi-fi play link instead of making them download, but thats just my opinion. I'll definitely check it out later, I always love Variax's guitar playing.
