Hey all... long time listener, first time caller...

I hope this is the right place for this post, if not it won't be the first time I stuck something in the wrong place...

Anyhow....

I'm looking to expand my 'studio-esque' like area that I call a cellar...

I'm looking enable some vocal recording... (nothing spectacular just scopin it out ... for now..)

I'm currently runnning a PC, with a SBAudigy2 Plat. (yes, yes I know.. it's what I have, so chill....) primarily for SoundFonts of course... CakeWalk Pro 9... and a simple old Miracle piano (yes the nintendo generation is in the house...) but it works... that's all I have so far... I've been able to do some very interesting things so far... but...

What I need now is the ability to record some vocals (2x Min.) as well as feed headphones (2x Min.) for the singers and of course another for monitoring... so obviously I've been thinking some form of mixer... and any associtaed gear I may need to make my life more fun (not necessarily easier.... easy is why they still have McNuggets)....

So long story short... I'm looking to add some vocal capability to my 'rig' (lol, ;-)) with ability and flexibility... considering my current limitation of the Audigy card...

I'm looking more for general specs that I should be looking at and not necessarily brands (but thats ok too... any ideas are helpful...) what are my current configuration limitations, how can I overcome and/or enhance them etc...

All is much appreciated and we'll be rewarded in another life.. ( if they don't keep everyone around in this one to pay for SS..)

Peace kats...

You can still record two tracks at a time with your Audigy. It's a stereocard. Now, to that I would add a mixer of some kind, maybe a small Behringer UB802 would work. Add to that a couple of mics (maybe Shure 58's or better if you can afford it).

For headphone-distribution I use the HA4600. It does its job.

Thanks for the quick reply looks like I'll make it to Guitar Center's 'sale' today after all....

I was actually looking at those earlier... cept was looking at a bigger mixer just because... well it was bigger... and so was the shine... couldn't figure out what I'd use it for though.... ;)

And I've yet to come across a good place to buy good cables and an inexpensive price I'm convinced the only place is the back of the truck they ship them on... ;)
