New studio space so new approach

Ive been recording guitars for a fair old while now,

just got a new studio space to work in, nice wooden building, easy to sound proof and great to practise in,

Ive never really managed to achieve the electric guitar sound ive wanted on tape, i love the actual sound im making but once down i end up getting a thin sound,

Ive tried 57's, various condensers, didnt positioning, but ive never managed to catch the sound.

Im using a gibson 335 and a fender deville. Im after a slightly warmer sound. Any recommendations for mics or positioning?

Ive also tried moving the mic around while playing, but still not getting it.

Any help appreciated, i hope ive given you enough to go on!
