I'm thinking to buy a new soundcard + box.
Aardvark Aark24 or Creamware Luna II +24/96 I/O Box ?
(Midi + 8 channel recording with the mackie)
Thankx

it confuses me to think about how you can be choosing between an aardvark and a creamware card...the creamware card is geared towards midi and soft synth stuff, whereas aardvark cards are designed mainly for recording digital audio....i'm confused.

Soundcard confusing...

Sorry J. You're correct.
Let me give more info.
My setup is a synth-module from Yamaha and Roland jv2080.
What I want to do is recording midi and analoge voice/instruments.(QBase VST).
The soundcard which I'm currently using does not sound well and I have timing problems with record/playback more than 3 channels audio. (standard PC card)
With a new sound card I record more tracks without timing problems...
Can I also add some effect to the audio channels (reverb -compression) with the software from creamware ?

as far as i can tell the big thing about CREAMWARE is the dsp chips on their cards.(what i originally said isn't entirely accurate)...to take advantage of this you have to use plug ins written for them....however, the LUNA does support regular plug ins, as far as i know. the thing is that these won't be able to take advantage of the onboard dsp .....if you are just wondering about effects, you should be able to use effects with CUBASE and any soundcard capable of multitracking....

some of the aardvark cards also have onboard dsp, like compression, reverb and eq...however, i believe that you can only record with them and not use them on a track that has already been recorded.....i don't think the Ark24 has onboard dsp ...but of course this doesn't mean you can't use plug ins.....

good luck
