Maybe this'll break the duck...
Firefly, an upbeat indie rockish tune. Comprises electric rhythm with some chorus in places, pretty cool bass line (unforunately recorded with the same electric guitar as for the rhythm!) which I've eq'ed to attempt to make it more authentic.
Drums are Cubase's own yet again, as such they don't sound like drums but give the feel, I think the compression has given them a weird dance sound or something.
The bridge has an extra distorted guitar layer which increases in pitch as it ends, using a zoom effects pedal.
Listen out for the impromtu solo at the end, provided by my wee brother (multi-talented!) which adds a nice finishing touch.
I've added echo to the vocals, with a more extreme effect layered on the chorus (using the same zoom player 2100), both mainly in an attempt to hide the fact that the micophone's not ideal and I don't have a clue how best to eq/compress vocals properly (any tips?). I think it also makes my voice sound better!
