David, bro, that was pretty freakin' awsome. I like the old-school feel of it. Sort of reminded me of "Winger", remember them?

Impressive composition. I love the power-build from the beginning (nice intro by the way, very good imagry, even before the vox).

As far as the mix:
The overall mix sounds a tad thin. It definitely phattens up when the bass comes in after the intro, but it still seems like it's missing some girth, some roundness to the overall sound. The lead guitar seems very thin throughtout. And the drums seem to much in the background... I'm not sure how to explain the drum thing... just seems like something's missing or something.

There was one part at the end of the main guitar solo where it got kind of foobar... the whammy bar thing was a bit over done (IMHO).

Dude, I'm just nit-pickin', but I really like the song, and I thought the composition was tremendous.

Tell me a little history about the song and how you did it.

Great job, my friend!

Just as good or better than most of the power ballad stuff in the late 80s. When was the song written? It does have that certain feel. I think the end of that solo would be better too if the rest of the band didn't drop out for so long. I don't mind the way you played it at all, but it stands out even more since everything else drops out and makes it seem really different from the rest of the song. Good performances all around as usual for stuff you post David.

Yo Teddie, Thanks for taking the time bro! Your right the mix is lacking some things well alot of things I'm sure. For one thing one of my brand spanking new monitors has gone bad gotta send it back so I was kind of in the dark on this thing from the get-go. Yeah I was told already about the drums being in the background a little much I agree there too...and the whammy thing?:D hey I know I was wrong for that hehe!I really got to redo that track soon! Thanks again Ted for the tips and kind words.

Jon X, where ya been cuz? Yeah man 80's RULES! At least i think so. Jon the song was written in 93 there about, I was writting more in that type vein back then. My drummers wife had a few of the recordings we had done back then and they were all like that one (not ballads) but kind of 80ish feeling to them. Man I had forgotten just about everything we did back then, but i'm thinking of trying to get back to doing more of that kind of stuff. Hey I need your killer riffs in this thing is what I really need!! Thanks for the listen Jon X...Dave

Very nice song, David. Good song structure and musicianship. I agree with previous comments, esp. the lead guitar sound being thin (EQ issue?). Also, when I played it the song had the "swishing" sound to it. It may have been the connection but is the song a tad overcompressed?

Thanks for listening Slim and yeah it is mabey a lot over compressed..still trying to master this compressor thing..and that mabey why your hearing that "swishing" or "warable" type sound. I cant hear it as bad on my other songs, but it's still in there a bit. Much-o thanks man.

Great sound...and I enjoyed it....but Teddie nailed everything I could have said.....gibs

I listened to a couple, Alice and Cajun Girl. Some of those reviewers are tough at garageband. Your voice sounds a little like SRVs in Cajun Girl and something funny was going on with the mix unless it was just my feed. I'm not going to get into a bunch of details about the mix because it sounds better than the stuff I've been putting out, but the songs were excellent. Enjoyed listening.

Thanx for listening Ray J..yeah some of them "so called reviewers" can get pretty nasty LOL! I take all of-em with a grain of salt though. I dunno, the original mp3 isnt all that bad, but listening to the stream all my mixes sound crappppppy! But I keep trying for some reason or another:D Thanks Ray.

Not a style of music that I normally sink my teeth into, but that is a personal taste issue.

I had a lot of trouble sustaining a high-fi play but...

Musicianship is dead on. Acoustic does sound a tad thin, maybe mike it a little closer, or a tad closer to the sound hole. Voice is powerful and well represented. Drums are having trouble punching through. I like the keyboard/piano part, I think it adds nicely. Good composition too.

Thanks for the listen jet-rocker..yeah the acoustic was recoreded with a at40/50 up around the 12th fret, should of layered that track as well(dead strings also:( )..thanks man.
