New Song, would love to hear what you think,...

Agree with most of the above, a little sibilance to be addressed, more compression on the vocals, and maybe a bit of delay??

And It would be my preference to have the bass in the middle too, though it didnt distract me too much..I listen to old soul records and some of them have the lead vocals on one side, ah the early days of stereo ;)

I think I may have left the entire mix too organic and natural. I should really revisit and remix. Thanks for the listen and advice, I appreciate it.

yep:

Center the bass
Compress the vocals
Add a little verb or delay to guitars, Vocals, Snare,
Maybe a little more high end in overall mix and back off cymbals volume a hair.

I would say overall it sounds like a good live demo of a really good band, not a polished and produced recording though. It would need more vocal compression, bass and lead panned center, some light room ambience reverb on rhythm guitars and vocal. This is a really great song! There aren't many songs on here that jive with my style and interests, but this does. Great stuff.

Tell me though, what are those main chords.. A, Gdim, D.. then what? Sounds like F-something.. it's bugging me! :-) Love the guitar playing!

As far as panning there is no right or wrong way. Its up to you. In the past 20 or so years the majority of stuff is panned like your watching a 5 piece band. Go back before that and panning was all over the place. I find it refreshing to hear stuff done diffferent. Listen to the Stones, Doors and other classic acts and there is some crazy panning !!

Thank you! No band just me, my son played drums for me on this one. I will tell you the chords, but in exchange I want to know what amp you are using. I bet it is an Axe-FX?
A, A7, D, Cmaj7sus, Fadd9. There you go, be bugged no more! lol

I am a crazy panner for sure! lol I set this up to accommodate a B3 to be dropped in at a later date. I thought it may broaden the sound, the B3 will be panned out in stereo. I could be wrong, just my crazy thinking. But I appreciate the support, thank you. I play better than I mix! lol

Sounds good to me new guy. Has a nice retro feel to it - add one more vote for a dash more compression on the vocals though.
