Not bad...good song but...
This one sounds like everything is sitting right in the center of the floor. I think you might need to pan things out a bit. For one thing, this might be making the vocal a bit unintelligible. Very crowded, IMHO.

I hear nothing really wrong with the performances, but it's hard to tell what the vocal is supposed to sound like because of the panning issue I mentioned. Levels seem to be good. Kind of a strange way to fade the song out IMO too.

I would wait for more responses before changing too much though. I just finished a mix myself so I might still be a bit numb.

Nice song.

I liked the song and generally the mix. I dont know if its the system I'm listening on which is not that good but I got the impression the vocals were sat on the track rather than in it. I noticed this particularly out of the solo, I think its in the EQ, they seem to be at the right level but are lacking something. I had the same impression as SluiCe, I was struggling to get the lyrics.

the vocals deffinitly don't sit........either pan the guitar off to give some space, or try some eq cuts for a little for room.........particularly in the first verse you can't hear the words to well

Nicely constructed tune Flash. I agree with the vox not blending in. Maybe a little reverb coat. I'd try some compression too and ITF work your mic technic a little stronger to give a more even level.

Just some thoughts. WTF do I know:)

Cool tune.

Thanks guys, We took the day off yesterday to give our ears a break. Were suppose to get back at it this evening to do some EQ work and other stuff. Thanks again.

Loved the guitar work is that you?

Vocal needs much more definition.

This song should have great posibilities.

Keep at it.

BUMP!

Flash, thought I owed you that, since i don't have time to listen now. Will do it tomorrow!

Pretty good song. You have a nice chord progression and good guitar work.

My only feedback may be to bring up the drums a bit in the mix. Also, on my machine it almost sounded like a mono mix. Maybe separating the sound may give it more space. It sounded like the vocals could use a bit of eq'ing as well -- imho -- It kind of sounded like there was a bit too much low end, but it just may be my machine.

Not bad at all with maybe just some tweaking needed.

Good job!

I love this groove, feel and the song! Its all a question of mix at this point, This has a Crazy Horse feel that i dig.

The vocal needs more high end to cut through. There is no low bass energy on this track at all and it needs that in a big way. Is this track mono? Sounds like it. The guitars need to be spread a bit apart. Bring the lead up a hair for the solo. I'd also like to hear some kind of slight ambient room on the drums overall. Anything to make 'em crack and give them more space.

Do some knob turning and you can get this thing to really rock its best. Performances are all good, its just a mixing thing for me.

GT, LEAD GUITAR IS A FRIEND NAMED MARK.
BOYDRJ, CRAWDAD AND GT, THANKS FOR THE ADVICE. I WORKED ON THE SONG LAST NIGHT BUT I HAD MANY INTERUPTION. HOPEFUL TO GET A REVISION UP TONIGHT. I really need to learn how to mix better. A good pair of reference monitors also.

Flash,

I think you have a cool voice. I also like the huge sound of the vocals.

The guitar sounded a bit middley, but overall nice.

funk on!

for some reason i can only play downloadable songs on nowhere. sorry, can't get to this.

Like Eric, I have to download on nowhereradio to have any luck, streaming's usually no good on my dialup. But, I was able to get all the way through this one at lo-fi...cool!
I dig the Crazy Horse vibe and wild lead, and would dig vocals better if more up front...I want to hear the words and inflections.
I agree with above comments concerning mix (but remember, I can only listen lo-fi).
I dug the lyric "...desperate measures take time to subside..."
Good work, and good writing...looking forward to more.

Mark

Lyrics and singing is done by my friend Jack. I can't wait to get home from this Looonnngggg day at work.

Oh man... the buffering! the suffering!!

Okay we begin -- then buffer again... argh! -- can't do this in HI-FI -- to much net traffic. Lo-fi...

Since we're in lofi, all I can do is make suggestions about the song itself.

Nice swingy rhythm... some Tom Petty flavors... (crap; now it's buffering the LOFI) Hmmm... I'm tryin, Flash... I almost need to download the files off NWR... okay starts again. I like the bluesy lead licks that come in. Nice changes. The lofi thing makes the vocal sound a bit too up front and dry; but that could easily be the streaming quality

It is a good song, but a difficult listen in LOFI -- it does so many nasty things to the sound :( Sorry can't offer you more

Chad

Hey Chad and all others. O.K. Revised version it up. Also, Can download if you like. Play as you will, just let me know how I'm doing on the mix please.....I'm really new to this mixing thing.....
P.S. What's this buffering thing? I have Road Runner and every song I play in hi-fi stops and studderes. I play every thing in lo-fi. Is it a setting on my computer?

I LIKE IT!!!
Now you have had enough mixing advice so I wont go there. I did hear a little unwanted distortion during the solo, but that may be these shitty computer speakers.
The song reminds me of the 70's. Kinda got a Stones kinda vibe to the rhythm. Unique vocal sound.
Great stuff

Brown sugar...how come you taste so good

defintely crackling on the solos.. clipping badly.. I only hear the crackle during the solos.. It's pretty bad in the middle solo..

Other than that, definitely a very cool tune.. I hear the Crazy Horse vibe as well... I liked it..
you need to fix that crackling immediately..

I'm confused, I even just downloaded the song from NWR and I don't here any crackel. A couple more opinons please. Could it be something in my system that's not letting me hear this, or are you talking something other than crackeling and breaking up?
