This is a new song we just recorded with my band. its pretty different to what is usually posted here and I would appreciate any constructive comments. The song is AIRHEAD, theres another song in there that was recorded in a hurry just using one mic, one take, but its still worth listening to. By the way we are from Honduras.

Go here and Listen to airhead:

drums sound too compressed or limited.......there is a loud buzz on the guitar track.....it kinda gets covered up as the song goes along but it's real noticeable during the intro. The vocals are decent but would probably sound better doubled in spots to give it some punch...The vocals could use some compression too..I dont like the tone on that lead guitar(one note but I guess thats lead guitar these days. )

Not a bad song but the mix needs fixing a little.

with this song i recorded the guitars with a direct box and used an amp simulator (AMP FARM). I thought it would sound better than with a mic and an amp, though i do have marshall amp.

i found my toe tapping until the vocals kicked in. here's the most constructive comment you may ever get: hire a new singer. really.

The singer is fine. I would ignore the previous post. The song is Ok, though I found the progression and riff a little too obvious. I think you made the most out of it. The tempo changes drastically and I'm not sure that was on purpose. Either way it sounds a little awkward. Walk before you run.

You seem to be under the impression that this board is a "talent" contest and that people are looking for a record deal.

Why is that?

I think the vocals just need to be fuller (more reverb, more voices, etc.)

I like it.

I think the singer kinda sounds like Michael Stype and the guy from Green Day.
Anyway, The song will defineately get you goin, which is what its all about on songs like this. IMO. The drums are pretty cool I think.
I'd turn it up if it came on the radio.

Just a couple of observations here........The tempo seems to be all over the place, I'm not so sure that's a good thing. I also think it needs something in there to break the monotony...perhaps that's the idea behind the tempo changes, it's just not really working for me. But....who the hell am I?

I have no problem with the production. IN fact, I like it.
The singer gets the job done.

In, fact, it would be a very good offering except there is no wildcard. DUDE, you have to have a wildcard.

good mix, good sound, good everything
Score: D

We did the tempo change on purpose, I just guess it didnt add up too well to the song.

Cool vibe to this one. I liked the guitar riff - although it might be used a bit more sparingly. I liked the music, but lyrically it was so-so. Real cool kick drum sound - really cuts through. I liked the guitar sounds - real thick.

Maybe a bit more reverb on the vocals? They don't seem to sit all that well with the instruments. Nothing major though.

The bass I thought was a little muddy and didn't have enough defined attack.

Some sort of click at :58 - like maybe the drum sticks hit each other.

Didn't care for the tempo change. Actually I think I detected two - one was intentional, but the other I don't believe was.
