I posted a small instrumental part of this last week and got a bunch of G-N-R jokes...and rightfully so. Well, I don't sound anything like Axle, so here it is with some vocals etc. The low end might be a touch week...the mp3 conversion kinda killed it. And yes, I have some autotune on the vocals purposely as AN EFFECT. I'm not going for Cher on this one, but there are a lot of stair-stepping vocals and I thought it sounded cool. Maybe it sounds like crap and I should take it off. Haven't decided yet...

Bash away gang!

This is my first complete song post since joing this board maybe 3 or 4 years ago, so play nice. On second thought, I don't care. I need input.

Very good vocal range you have there. I can see why people might have mentioned G-N-R just because it's the same chord progression as "Paradise City" (I think). But, you're right, you don't sound at all like Axl. It's a nice tune. Sweet high's on the ride cymbal. Nothing to criticise here, I think it's good.

I like the drum sound on this and the vocal style. Sampled drums are getting so realistic it's hard to tell which is which when compared to a drummer who's consistent in their hits. :D Good singing. If you're using autotune already, I'd suggest checking some of the high notes and nudging them up a bit as they're a little flat on occasion. Guitars sound over compressed - I think they need a little more definition in the rhythms with the attacks of each strum coming out a little more.

Thanks for the reply. I'm playing all of the insturments and singing on this one. The drums are live-mic'ed, and then I've got some drumagog going on. The snare is actually a 50/50 between a sample and the live snare. Ironically, I didn't think I used much compression on the guitars. There's acoustic and distorted going on over each other. I may need to let them "breath" a little bit more. As for the singing, I'd rather just do some retakes than autotune it to death. I knew there were some issues on some of the notes but the song isn't finished yet. I need to nail the lead vocal and I think it needs some harmonies/backing vocals and some lead instruments to spice things up. Anyone agree with me on this?
