Pretty full, well balanced mix....Like the guitars, think maybe they can be "sharpened" up a bit, maybe just a little fuzzy...nice lead tone and playing around 1:20 ..The "I'm free.." thing sounds a bit like The Who's "I'm Free'....Overall very well played, mixed...just would like a little sharper rhythm guitar sound...to my ears anyways....

I enjoyed the feel of the mix quite a bit, Chili. Very clean-sounding. I listened to both versions, and I'm torn. Listening through crappy headphones at work, I don't get the "bottom-end" much, so the sound of the motorcycle was awesome, holy cow, it sounded mean... So much so, that I missed it in the 2nd version. Admittedly, the cycle was a bit too loud in the mix in the 1st version, but I don't think it should be taken completely away. There's got to be a way to use it at the beginning without it dominating the song.

Take everything with a grain of salt, because this eval is coming from a pair of crappy headphones.

Great tune, Chili.

Sounds great now Dave! You worked on those drums, didn't you? They sound a lot more human now. Wonderful road groove in this tune and nice solos. Guitars sound beautifully crunchy. Great to hear the bike fading the song out, it's much more effective and a lot less cliche. So, off you go ridin' into the sunset....!:D

Joey :):):):)

Yeah man!! I redid the whole drum track midi program thingy. I like it better this way, too. Thanks for pushing me to do it.

Thanks a lot Queep. I'd have to retrack the guits to change the tone. Not sure that's gonna happen. My sister made the same Tommy reference and I knew what she was talking about. Dammit, we're old!!!

Thanks PI. That's my harley I recorded. Pulled in front of the garage with the pipes pointed in. I used an ACM-310 (group buy, tube SDC) up close and an MXL V57M further back and pointed towards the back wall to catch the reflections. I put some 703 between the bike and the MXL so it's hearing the wall more than directly from the bike. At least I hoped the 703 did that. I thought it sounded pretty darn good for never having done something like that before.

I'll see if I can remix it in the intro. I'm not done working on the song yet, just taking some time off from it. Thanks man!!
