This is a new song that we produced today, then recorded some vocals over it, pretty much spent the whole day doing it, but we are just mixing it at the moment and arnt really finished yet but would be good to get an idea of what people think, and to have any tips?

heres the link -

Thanks

Really cool, the sudden vol. chages on the guitar when by itself is a bit distracting. try not to make it as linear.

the vocals in itself are good. but but there's something that sounds... off. it sounds like you first compressed it. and then expanded the background breathing.. you might wanna look into that.

other than that I like it.

hope this helps

My only concern is like Nick said something being off.

Something I might try is to create some space in your mix. Things like the piano you could double track. Put one side thru a low shelf filter and the other thru a high shelf filter.

Then bring back both channel back into a group channel and maybe a touch of send reverb with a medium hall setting and maybe a touch of eq on the upper frequency making it a bit brighter.

The guitar could probably use a bit of the same kind of send reverb and a prehaps a touch of a chorusing effect.

Sound like you might have a stereo expander going too if that the case it kinda sound like it's pulling you mix to far apart. If you do you might want to take it off and before you make your adjustment. Hopefully you be able to get a more balance and fuller sound.

Guitar maybe overpowering the rest of the mix you make want to try to back off the volume abit so you can here the rest of the orchestra stuff playing.

Other than that sound like a good song.

Sounds like you boosted the highs a bit too high. (around 10k?)
Could be an anomaly in my speakers as I'm not listening to my NS10's

Otherwise nice song

I like this song, but dislike the string pad. Too much reverb for my tastes - but in the vernacular that usually means more reverb.

Nice job on the vocals.

thanks for the feedback guys, yeah the high-end of the vocals is quite "high" because i think it gives it a very clear effect, im gonna turn it down a little though, first gonna finish the music, add a middle 8 etc...

No mix suggestions from me but I do like the song. You got a nice groove going with the accoustic. Nice jobon vocals too
