New song - One More Day

Hey there folks, hoping for a little feedback on both the song and the recording.

I'm fairly happy w/ the song but pretty unhappy w/ the overal sound of the recording. My ears are just burnt out on it though and I'm not sure what needs to be changed.

Vocals, harmonica and acoustic are recorded through a Rode NT1-A into Cakewalk Sonar. Bass and Electric are straight through the board into Sonar.

I'm using some compression and reverb and a little bit of EQ, I think the EQ is the worst done part though.

I can't listen-- Media Player 11 is telling me it's an unknown codec, and now I can't go back and change the listening preference to Winamp :/
 
I'm still on WMP 10 so I'm not sure about 11... On the nowhere radio page there should be an option to download just to the right of the lo-fi and hi-fi play options...

Let me know if downloading and playing it in another player works?
 
Would still appreciate any feedback, good, bad or indifferent.

I think the electric guitar comes in kinda of weird. The acoustic guitar sounds pretty nice though. Although I dont particularly like the way your singing.
 
Levels are good. Everything is spread out pretty nice.. nothing fighting for space. A bit too much reverb for my taste, but that's a personal preference, only. The vocal, harmonica, and acoustic all have the same kind of presence to them. They have a certain amount of "air" to them. The electric guitar doesn't have the same presence to it. Sounds like it was recorded in a completely different space or studio. The bass is clear, but it too, has a different presence.
 
Well, the harmonica, vocal & acoustic were all recorded on my Rode NT1A and the Electric guit, and bass were run straight in through my DI, into the mixer and then to the PC. So that would explain the difference in the two... Glad to hear it's not quite as bad as it could be.

I know my voice isn't the best, I like to think of it as a "character" voice :)
 
Every frigging time I try to stream music from Nowhere Radio I get blown off the net. Why is that? :mad:

I can download, but attempting to stream from NWR sucks!

I think your song has definite possiblities, but you need to get control of your presentation and dynamics.

Seriously! It's a heartfelt song. It just needs a smoother presentation.

no, there won't be telling of anyone to go to hell :)

Tell me more about what you mean by dynamics & presentation, I'm listening.
