New song - Need Mixing Advice

Hey hey, this is a new song my band is working on. There is currently no vocals, for we havn't even written them yet, but meanwhile we layed down all the instrument tracks and threw some random shit in there. I just wanna post it on here, have you guys give it a listen, and give me some feedback on mixing. Thanks! Heres the link

The kick is kinda floppy from here, loose sounding. It seems like a lose tom with a wood beater rather than a good kick. The guitars are too fuzzy and have little definition. I would like to hear them cut more into the mix. The bass is mushy and not focused at all. the part where you speed up will be near impossible to sing along with if you don't give some kind of cue in...a short build or something, it sounds too pasted together. It at least needs to come in on the downbeat of the slower tempo to match.

Some thoughts.

Thanks very much for the advice, anything is much appreciated. How would i go about cutting the guitars into the mix a little more? As for as the cue in goes, i'll play around with it...see where i can put it. need to find something that works. Keep in mind, im only 16, and this is my very first full recording (not even full yet :S). So please...need more feedback from other members. Flame away.

Huh, weird.

I would rerecord the guitars with a different approach, choose a different sound.
Mic up a nice cabinet.
the cue thing is easy, make a click in the slow tempo and put the fast part right on the 1 downbeat of the slow tempo.
 
When I tried playing this song, it tried putting a virus on my computer...

to those of you getting the missing codec message...........is this the first time you have tried to listen to something from nowhereradio? if not, have you gotten this message before? heres what works for me........after clicking the link above, and the page opens, click "Change Player" at the top of the page. I had windows media player selected and although I DO use windows media player, it would not work. Select the next option, which will not be windows media player, even if you are using windows media player. It worked for me, maybe it will work for you. Some guy that posts here and said that he developed Nowhereradio gave me a bunch of shit about my file assocciations being mucked up. I can tell you this......nothing he told me worked. He better redevelop that crap.......the whole situation gave me a headache. I think Jake gave me some shit over that missing codec message too. I'm not positive it was you so don't go phsycho on me you crazy bastard.

Well, it doesnt mean 117 people listened to it though. Enless they all thought it Holy fuck there's a deer out my window! Ya, i dunno. I worked on those changes. But the cue in...well it comes in 1/4 of a beat before beat two of the bar at the slow tempo. Makes sense to me and the band at least :D The mixing is definately not tops cuz im using comp speakers...and my sub is right up in my face. But I tightened the kick up a bit...and de-muddied the bass. I'll just post a new thread for it once we get the vocals up. For anyone who's interested. Thanks

Do you see the problem with this? Us listeners (who you are making music for) don't really get to rock steady through that. Change it and check it out. I bet after listening to it a few times you will love it.

No Travis, I don't think it was me...all I said is that it works for me. Don't make me go psycho on you. ;)
