New song I'm working on.

I just thought I'd post some progress on a song that I just started today. It's just a rough draft of what parts are going to be in it. There are no vocals yet because I haven't written any lyrics for it. And before you say anything, I know the drums are sloppy. If you've got any suggestions or comments, please let me know. I think it's a good start. Maybe beef up the ontro guitars some...a bit more low end to em. Make them kill someone..... :D

Cool tune man....should work well. Can't wait to hear it progress.

Thanks for listening to it. I'll try to add some low end and make the room shake a little. I'll try not to kill anyone but if anyone is injured, I'll blame it on you. :D
 
I forgot to ask... How are the riffs? Do they sound okay and make sense with the song or are they too obvious/cliche?

To me, the riffs are fine. The progression is good, and it flows into a decent song.

That rocks - the kinda tune that makes you want to crank it up! Please post again when it's finished! I'm hoping to hear a shreddin' lead break in the middle of that sucker :D
 
mmmmm, the groove is nice and tight. rockin'. but imho i feel the mix doesn't have this in-your-face quality this kind of music deserves. guitars are too much in the background and need a more brutal sound. drums are not 'hard' enough. i do like the way the bass blends in with the guitars.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! You can be assured that this song will definitely get some special treatment. I'm just not sure what approach to take with the vocals. I was thinking maybe a Godsmack thing or a Chris Cornell thing. Any suggestions?

Yes..... :D
Either might fit very well, so, whatever you can pull off would be cool. I like Sully for harder songs, but Chris can wail damn fine also.
See, I'm no help. I like lots of things..... :eek:
 
Yeah, I can definitely picture Chris Cornell singing over a tune like that. That would be cool.
 
Thanks again. I might try to incorporate a little bit of both vocal styles. Maybe...

It may sound weird, though. If it turns out bad, I'll do one or the other.
