Wow-this is really cool. Your voice is rich and deep-I love the verb on the voice as well. The song has a classic american feel-excellent. The bass didnt bother me at all-really tasty guitar solo-umm the drums...is that a dr rythm? lol--I would have begged you to use some brushes on a snare and slap a nice verb on it. But with your voice and this great song even those crazy drums can be forgiven. Did I mention you have a great voice? I listened to this 5 times already and I could listen to it 100 more times. Wonderful!

drums LOL!

yeah the drums are a little crabby" still workin on the drum thing LOL!
after i uploaded it i grabbed a set of headphones and the bass took part of my hair off LOL.....it may be the kind of phones i used though...
thanks for the very nice comments !!
James

You do have a very good voice in that classic country style. The bass didn't bother me and the kick/bass are locked nicely. The snare sound on the other hand was a little cheesy. Just my humble opinion but I'd have thought a side stick with some verb on it would have worked a little better.
Very nice tune over all.

Hi James.
Sounds like you've found your nitche in music.
Really good.

Ohmigod I hate Country Music!! Having gotten that out of the way I must say this is a very well done example of that classic sound. Bass is fine. Vocal is excellent. Hire a pedal steel player and you could make some money with this. Good work.

hey James,

whatcha do, put the panty hose on the bass? Just kidding pal. The bass sounds fine, along with the rest of your usual great sounding music.

later dude,

I'm not all that thrilled with the cheesy drums either, but, no, the bass sounds wonderful, as does the guitar and you've got a great voice for this song. Very Marty Robbins-llike.

James, this is classic country, and what a great voice you have for it. I'm reminded of Marty Robbins too, and Don Williams. The bass sounded fine to me, and guitars sounded sweet and well-played.
I agree with all the above comments about the drums. They don't really take anything away from the quality of the song, just that better drums would add that much more.
I just recently got a boss br-1180, and the drums on it are not bad at all, plus you can import loops from programs like DiscreteDrums.
Your track was a real pleasure to listen to.

I liked the voice, tune, etc

BUT!! the drums gotta go. I would've even preferred finger snaps, or something really generic/simple in there place. They're too repetitive and the snare is completely out of the genre.

Howcome I [wanted to] hear whistling during a solo break?;)

I think everything is fine...gtr playing too....voice, verb, bass, performance.....except those canned drums. And if you do replace with better fakies...remember the programming...

thanks guys!!

thanks much guys!
if i had to depend on my ears alone i'd gum up everything LOL!!!

dtb!!!! how you doin????
pantyhose would have been great!!! had to improvise drawers this time.... stole them too!!! ain't no back in mine!!
RTFLOLOL!!!

Not really my kind of music, but you did a nice job on this tune. Kind of reminded me of Johnny Cash.

Anyway, I think the bass sounded fine. I wouldv'e liked to hear some real drums on this...that would be my only feedback. You have a good voice and this turned out well!

Good job!

I was reminded of Don Williams imediately!! This I fantastic stuff. Did you write Fallin Star??? I really like it. The bass sounded just fine to me. I am telling you, this is the kind of stuff that country music needs right now, not the stuff that is on the radio. A great effort!!!

Nice song and nice voice.
I think one of your bass strings is a little out of tune or not fretting properly (just a hair sharp), but the bass otherwise sounds good.

Thanks guys

hey doc!
yeah that's a new bass we were trying..the darn thing kept scobbing up on the frets....

Elvis!!!!
yes i did write this one....i left it a little open ended,to mabe let the listener relate their own experiances into it...
i know what you mean about the radio LOL!!! i like listening to rock too,but i like for it to be called rock...not a bunch wearing cowboy hats playing rock calling it country""" if that works,i could dye my hair orange and be a rock star LOL!!!
HAVE A GOOD ONE GUYS!!
James

I really like this one james.I think MIXMKR has something with the fingersnaps. It would give this song a really good quality and in turn take out those dreadful drums(preset/keyboard drums?)
I can also hear a high harmony when you sing the words "love" and "heart" in the chorus? When you are holding these words out it allows for a high harmony to kind of modualte over your vocal line.Kinda how Don Knotts would sing those high harmonies along with Andy Griffith on the Andy Griffith show.Sorta like a backwoods old time gospel high harmony.Im a rock head but I must admit that I have always been a closet lover of this kind of singing.:D

Kramer

hey!
thanks! we'll tinker with the harmony and see what happens...

Did someone say pedal steel?

James, great tune, nice job. As always.

If you ever want to collaborate with steel, let me know.

Tom
