There is a new song on my myspace called You're Alright. It's very short, but a lot of hard work went in to it. I did a lot of work on the piano sound, and a friend did lots of work with the backing vocals.

Hi...interesting.

There's some noise in the track that's a lot more noticeable before the vocal comes in. Actually sounds like floor noise. Did you record an actual piano...that would make sense, because it doesn't start until the piano comes in.

I'm getting distortion when it's just the piano and the synths...before the vocal comes in...from about :23 seconds to :30 seconds.

Was the change in tempo at 1:05 intentional? Since the song resumes after it, it just kinda' sounds like a mistake, lol.

The background vocal tuning is pretty obvious...sounds cool, though.

Liked the vocal and the idea...I can hear this as like a transition track.

Really cool. I thought it sounded really good. The piano sounds came out good. The background vocals add a really cool feel to the song. They went just perfect. I like the song, very well done. :)

Sounds pretty good to me. Not my cup of tea, but done well. Good job.

Beautiful - I love the melancholy of this piece. Agree there's a little rhythm hiccup at 1:05 - but it doesn't detract much. How did you record this?

thank

thanks for the feedback.

it was recorded using a neve desk, some kinda vintage compressor and neumann mics, all put on to 24 track tape. In the mix I used a lot of remiking, using various rooms, speakers, and pieces of tape.

i don't use synthesized instruments or digital effects in my music.

Sounds real good to me...don't know what else to say. Good song and good recording. Wish it was longer though.

and then put on myspace :D -- seriously, do you have a high quality mp3 of it that's out there somewhere?

Love the trippy sound

I listened to the next song in sequence -- it was good, too.

ha

does such a thing exist?!

It'll be on itunes soon, and is on my album "you shield me from darkness" which is on the myspace to buy, and on www.michaelwookey.com if you're interested to hear the non shitty mp3.

it's weird how this song really suffers from the mp3 compression on myspace - it's awful

It's been a long time since you posted something mate.
I like the hesitations in the piano line - cool.
Sometimes I felt the b/vox were too lush for the piano tone.
You should set up a soundclick page - it's musch better quality - or lightning mp3.
I've wondered before - are the tracks complete or just snippets? They seem short - that's all. It works that way but ...
Oh, I liked it. I particularly like I can show you things.

Thanks for realizing that the piano part is "hesitant." It was played like that to add a kind of pregnancy.

It is a full song. I don't like snippets. Some of my songs are just really short.

cool stuff, I'm always blown away when someone thinks outside the box like this, keep it up
