I like the tune - nice clean mix!
the only thing maybe is the synth-bass that comes mono in the middle - 4 my taste it doesn't really fit in

good work!

thanks for stopping by, groovejunkie.

It took me quite some time to get the mix right coz I just got new studio monitors which I have to "learn" first.

sweet... reminds me of K&D.

i would clasify this as a little more ambient than d&b though.

i like.

Let me start by saying I like this quite a bit. I'm hearing some competing hertz in some places, which I have a big problem with myself. It makes it a bit muddy and introduces some weird harmonics. It's not real bad or anything. It just makes it a little less clean and separated than it could be.

As far as the levels of the instruments, you are right on the godd**n money, dude. Well done. I like most of your samples. I might have to agree with the comment on that one bright synth sound near the beginning. Everything else works great. Love the delay.

You ever listen to Massive Attack? It's not exactly like this... more trip hop, but I think you might like them. You don't really remind me of them, but it sounds like something you might enjoy and might get some inspiration from.

On second listen, I don't have a real problem with that one synth sound. It's just a higher key of that really "woody" sound in the beginning, and I dig the hell out of that.

I really find little to complain about here. Love the breaking glass. Nice touch.

This is a catchy damn tune, in my opinion. Keep it up! Let's hear more!

Thanks for posting.
Piltdown Man

thanks a lot for your comments! Pretty encouraging, given that this is my second song I've ever produced.

PiltdownMan: I have never listened to Massive Attack, even though I've heard the comparison before. Guess it's time to get one of their albums! ;)

Volthause: did you mean Kruder & Dorfmeiser by K&D? They are some of my favorite trip-hop producers!

Two questions:
- what do you think about the "vocals"? I had this girl for a 4hr recording session and it turned out that she couldn't really sing as well as I had hoped. That's why I included some spoken words only to give the mix a more "human touch". Should I leave that or overdub the vocals completely?
- could I inlcude that track on a demo for an electronic music/dance label (after professional mastering)?

Thanxx!

the vox didn't really play a huge roll for me in the song. i liked the spoken word thing. i would leave it as is if it was me.

and hell yeah you should put it on a demo!
