Howdy Darnold. The points you make are pretty much all valid. the reason the guitar sucks is that it was done a year ago with an sm-57 in front of my computer with a terrible mic placement. It was the first thing I ever tried to record. This is pretty much the first anything I did. It was not finnished and I mainly need ideas as to song structure not the recording as we are redoing this right now. I do however appreciate the suggestions so I can watch for them on the new recording. As far as the vocals go they were also done awhile back and they were on the C-1. This was all with old crappy equipment. i was using my UA-5 as my sound card and pre's. The new one should be much better. I will definatly post it before I finnish though to get some oopinions as I am still learning a lot of stuff. I agree the cello drums and violins overshadow everything in a bad way. My headphone mix was not too hot. The guitar however is not "on the side" however, it is right down the middle. And yup there is distorion in the vox. when are you going to be around this Saturday? Let me know, I am recording also, but if I get a chance i would like to come by.
. sorry about that. i only noticed the people congratulating and saying how wonderful it was so i thought i would throw in some blunt opinion to see how you would take it. wanted to check to see that you wernt some stuck up overconfident dood who always thought they were right
