Metal dude
Anyone check these out yet thay got pg57&58-$50. Ams is selling 1 Pg52 (kick drum ) and 3 pg56( tom/snare mics) for $250.(comes w/ case and mounting brackets) Not a bad deal. all you need is a real 57 for the snare and a ecm 8000 for overheads and the hole kit is miked. I wonder what the quality of these mics are?? Theres only a $30 differance between a pg57 and a sm57. Im sure theres a big sound differance. But they could good in the most bang for the buck realm.

PG57 $50
SM57 $80
Beta57 $140

PG52 $120
Beta52 $180

If it were me I would just get used shure 57's off ebay or from a store that carrys used equipment. You normally don't see them go for much more than $50 a piece used, you know they are incredibly hard to break and if you ever decide that you don't need them you can turn right around and get your exact amount of money back out of them. Im betting money that the Pg's are forgotten a few years from now while the reg 57/58 will still be an industry standard. Just my outlook on things, look ahead if you can.
