Bdgr, do you mean people you "know" on forums? I have seen tons of issues with all soundcards including 10/10's. That's kind of a silly reason not to buy one. Out of thousands of people you are bound to have a few problems.

Three persons I know IRL.
Last time I looked at their website, there were tons of restrictions on what motherboards you could use etc. Thats just sloppy coding. Any decent professional companys product should work on the majority of machines out there. If they have fixed all these problems, then fine, but I will stick with Delta.

"there is absolutely no reason to have seperate DAW/internet machines. Not anymore. Not for a very long time."

This statement is just asinine. NO reason? Like surfing or gaming while the studio is in full swing? NO reason?

Again, it can be done...duh. I just choose to use the method that has been totally trouble free for me.

When you had problems, what card/os/cpu were you using?

I had problems on two separate systems that were internet related. Shitty thing was the computer goes down for ANY reason so does the DAW...that sucks.

I wouldn't play games on my 16 track tape machine.

No, its accurate, and its my professional opinion. I do this computer thing for a living. Its my area of expertise.

And no, I dont normally surf or game while tracking, I have done it just to prove a point though, and it did work.

Now if you need more than one machine because more than one person might want to use it at the same time, thats a differant story, but thats not what were talking about here.

I really dont need a breakout box or all the fancy shit. Just a BETTER quality card. Listen to this suff. It was done with the original shitty card. Not too bad, eh? I just want BETTER!!! LOL

Are you sure were not talking about that?

The Echo line of cards are fine for most people. Try the Echo Mia and if you don't like it I will buy it off of you for retail.

Or just try one of the delta cards and you wont have to worry about returning it, you'll be done.

Wow

That song "hero" is awesome. Nice.

I feel like people are getting a bit too picky in general about tech and not concentrating on the actual music enough.

If I were to purchase a new 2 gig p4 puter from Dell for dual use as a surfer and recorder, what would you guys suggest I do?

That was the gist of my query, gentleman. I hope I didn't start an argument here. :(

In echos defense, I just looked at their website, and they are not nearly as restrictive on hardware as they used to be.

I still dont trust them though

Oh don't worry bdgr and I love to hate eachother.

Just get a big fast HD for audio only and you will be fine.

Re: Wow

No shit, Jake. You should hear all the mental masturbation in regards to the "perfect" piano patch that goes on on certain forums. It's the FUCKING MUSIC! That ideology is going out the window nowadays. Glad you took the time to listen to that first demo attempt. :)
