There will be vocals eventually just an instrumental demo for now. Also looking for someone to do a trumpet solo in the clean part. Let me know what you think!

Some info:
Drums are programmed; sound wise Metal Foundry is the foundation with various other samples blended in on the shells including other Superior libraries, LSD, Slate and Truth.

Bass is also programmed with Trilian, then re-amped at my place through a TC head and Sansamp.

Guitars are tracked with my JP7 into Axe-FX, then re-amped at my place as well. The main rhythms are 5150III into Mesa cab, there is also some Roadster blended in. 57 and 121 into API and Great River. Cleans and leads are Axe-FX.

Synths and samples are programmed with various things, mainly Massive and Omnisphere among others.

Mix is too much stuff to list out, feel free to ask about anything... Master has VCC, Obsidian, Hammer and clipping Lynx + a touch of Ozone for loud.

The second half after around 2:55 was my fav. The first half was just too busy and had no dynamics - musically. Second half had better variety. I would do maybe a minute of the first half then go right to second half. That solo in the second half was excellent.
Mix wise I think the whole thing is good. The playing is top stuff.

Thanks for listening! Songwriting is a subjective thing, but I do appreciate your opinon and taking the time to check it out regardless. Where in Alberta are you? I'm in Calgary. ;)

Yeah - I'm of a pop/rock vein so metal is not my forte. I wouldn't know if this is standard fare for the genre or not, so I should have added this is just my personal preference - no knocks on the song implied or intended. :D I live about a block from WEM in Edmonton. Tired of winter yet? Not bad this weekend though - we're having our first BBQ of the year this aft, complete with rib steaks....

Nice, I can't wait to bust out the BBQ again! Definitely getting done with winter, went snow shoeing this weekend which helps make it a bit more tolerable but still, bring on some spring!
