Now see, that's what I need. Someone who can sing. She sounds great. Not my genre, but it sounded like a Sade sort of thing...

As far as the mix, I thought everything sat well, but the bass was a bit boomy.

But I am listening on my pc speakers...

Thx a lot :) Yes the boomy bass, well, I am the bass player, maybe an uninvolved should mix ;)

Yeah, I am primarily a bassist and I love to hear myself, but we strive for balance, right?

Besides, you can always show your chops live and do a tasty solo that will vibrate their shirts off!

i wanted to dislike it. europop made for radio play? posted in a home recording forum?

i disagree about the bass level. the bass is the star of this show and should be on top. its like a syncopated duet with the vocal. the bass is what moves everything along and i love it!

over radios or boomboxes with less bass response the apparent levels between the voice and bass would even out i think.

the drums, synth, and guitar are like a little cheese on top.

i can imagine being at a shopping mall and hearing this pervasive bassline while walking around. its a fun sound.

This is a really good tune.

I do hear what seems to be clipping on the bass track (or somewhere). It muddies up the song for me ...

I would love to hear that snare sounding a little brighter, but like salt and pepper, its to personal taste. :)

Cheers.

I think a highpass on the bass track just to get rid of the subsonic garbage would really tighten up.

i wanted to hear the tune again so i downloaded it.

i dont know what you guys are hearing.

this is not something the dude is interested in improving. this was planned for the summer top 10 in australia if im not mistaken. he is interested in opinions im sure but the reason he posted here is to boost his numbers at artistlaunch.

the bass is very round and sounds "live" meaning the way a bass would sound in a live situation through a nice big amp rig with classic speakers.

i dont hear any clipping anywhere. i hear motivational bass to die for.

the lyrics are kinda trite but thats radio. everything is cool man. keep groovin.

i thought the vocal was lightweight but on the 2nd listen i could hear the control and artistry. i missed it the first time because i was hearing the bass and the vocalist makes it sound easy. the effects are nice. i think i heard echoes of the echoes at one point on the last syllable of a section that came back at the start of the next section. sounded nice.

the drums are way down, true, but it seems to work. canned drums shouldnt be featured anyway.

all of this wouldnt make much difference to me but i love the bass sound and the movement and the chops. thats not just any ol bass part!

it makes me want to do the choo-choo around the room which i bet is the desired effect.

Hey, thanks for listening and commenting :)

Yeah, I'm planning to take over the world :D to be honest: I won't change anything on this song, the posting was just meant to introduce this song, since it was a quick production to check how to work with our new singer. And in my eyes there's some lack in songwriting, but well, it's still homerecording ;)
I really love to hear what others think ybout this, after a while one gets a bit capture in his own style, and I'll learn from every comment for future productions :)
And of course give me more of those complimentary bass comments! :D

Hey, and it indeed sounds great over my amp and LOUD! when playing live :)

Thank you! :)

its like shade meets len... i like it... made me feel good. i dont mind the bass at all... it would sound perfect in a club... or some place with a nice sound system.

Hi there,

I like the song although Milena doesn't approve ;). At first it did sound a little tacky, but the lyrics are cool (though second hand) and the songs really digs into ones ears after the third or fourth time in the player. Definitely something I like to listen to every once in a while.

As for the production: it would be really cool if you could record those songs with an actual drummer playing along. I know it is A LOT more complicated and noisier, but being a drummer myself, I despise electronic drums ;). They never sound as warm as acoustic ones.
Otherwise the production is very nice, definitely something I would love to hear for our rehearsal tapes... :D

Cheers,

Tom

P.S. Looking forward to the gig on 10.06. Gartetalbahnhof!!

I like it. I won't comment on the mix...since I can't even mix my own stuff worth a crap.
good job.

the only thing for me is what sounds like some sibilance, but it could be the encoding, other than that if I listen to a song and I find I'm just listening for enjoyment, and not as an engineer, then that's the best complement I can give. Good work!!

Not true, dude. ;)

The bass in this piece is fine, maybe even unrepresented. It is the deep, round kick drum that is the achilles heel here. Boomsville. There is also sibilance in the vocal track that should be surgically repaired (EQ, perhaps amplitude) in editing in the vocal track only, if possible...in order to keep the "air" in this singers voice without the "easy fix-me-up de-esser" route. A de-esser ain't the way, IMHO. Nice pro sound in this release otherwise. ---Lee

Hey thx a lot lot, folks, much appreciated. Well, and someone from Goe here :) Cool :D
