I posted this song about the homeless before, but it's got some new parts added. Too busy? Needs more? Mix levels OK? Your opinions are valued.

hi,
really like this, excellent vocal, lyric. Paul Simon with rap overtones.
Dont think its too busy, it maybe my speakers but the only thing that sticks out for me is that the acoustic guitar is sometimes a bit prominent. MMaybe just lower the volume or cut back on some high freq.
Apart from that debatable point I think the mix is spot on.
Good song. good vocal.

Very nice.
I esp. like that low elec guitar (not an organ?) thing going on during the spoken (rap) portion.
It's very cool.
Great lyrics. Great arrangement. Would have liked the low gat thing, spoken of above, to appear more than twice during the song. Three times would be neat - perhaps in the chorus at about 3:50 if it fits. It seals the song well, it's a big part of the instrumental melody. Apart from kick the only low freq instrument.

This is a really good song. I'm impressed.

Thanks for the comments. Are you talking about the strummed acoustic guitar?

Thanks, and yes it's a Tele, not organ. I'll see if it fits in the last chorus.

Nice Mix

That's a very nice mix and a good tune. Thanks for sharing. As for any issues the only thing for me and this is just my tastes but I'd drop the volume on the kick drum just a tad but that's just me. Nice work.

Mix really sounds pretty good. Acoustic guitar sounds very nice. The hand percussion sits in nicely. For me, the song itself is way too long, kind of boring, and the rap/spoken vocals are kind of corny.

With regrads the Tele. how didyah doit: seems like chords with sidechain gate or summint like thart.
Care to let outta trade seckret?

I like the vox. I like when I think the word is gonna be 'laws' but in the end is 'lost.'
'Transcendence' comes across really airy and neat.
Got nice assonance, alliteration and rythym (eg: 'tracing/placed in' , 'spaced in between/deepest of deep' , 'grain/day' , 'lost/cost') all throughout the verses. I reckon it's mature and clever writing.

Ps: Boxnet is throwing me straight onto WMP so wonder if it's downloadable. ?

Thanks for the comments. I'll re-evaluate the bass.

Thanks Greg. I'll take that as a compliment, since your mixes are so good. I know this type of music is not your cup of tea, so thanks for enduring.

Fender Tele, Fender tube amp, 1/4 note delay if I remember right. Nothing secret or new under the sun.

Nice song guitar zero, vocals are really good. Although it's not my particualr favorite type of music, I found it very listenable. The mix is great, love the acoustic tones. I'm impressed with your talents, especially the vocals. Good job, no nits at all from me (allthough I may not be qualified due to lack of experience :)) Great job!!!

Thank you for the comments. I'm not the singer, but I'll pass on your remarks.

Man I do like the song. I was unsure about the beginning but it grew on me. Think you did a good job on choosing the final lyrics.

This is very Matt Kearney-esque. I like the song alot. First, I love social justice oriented songs. Definately an under-utilized topic for songs in general. The guitars, and harmony vocals are epecially nice. I'd like to maybe see more body to the acoustic rhthym guitar, and maybe some reverb on the main vocal to match the back-ups?

A very pleasant song though. I would play this in my car. Keep it up!

Thank you. Actually "Like Me Only Different" is the name of the song.

Thanks for the feedback. It's funny, I was actually thinking the same thing about the reverb, and already had it mixed. I'll put up a copy later

I want to bump this. This is the type of song that will (should) lead the new century. It is grassroots. It is contemporary. It is so ... nice. Beaut voice. Lyrics, more beautiful than anything I've ever heard.
My angst filled songs and a lot of other stuff here (IMHO) pales in comparison.

Who the heck are you guys who wrote and sang this. This is like the new Don Maclean.
I think if you can't see that then you are ear-blind.

Nice mix. You know my thoughts on structure.
The elements in this sit very nicely - esp the acoustic.
