Hey guys

I am actually a lyric writer but need to just take the tune out of my head and play it. Now I am on the market for a guitar. I have no cooking clue where to start or what to buy. Please advise me guys. Pretty please. :D

an acoustic guitar would be easy access for song writing. You don't want to skimp on an acoustic guitar. You want to make sure it is a player (good setup). Your going to spend at least 500.00 dollars or more on a decent guitar. Its been so longs since i made a new purchase on a guitar, I don't know what is crap or not anymore on new instuments.

For most new guitarists, I recommend a good classical guitar, or actually, a flamenco guitar, which is a subset of classical. The nylon strings are easier on callous-free fingers than steel, and you can get more for your money than in a steel string. You also don't have to change the strings as frequently. You'll notice that flamenco guitars have lower action, making them easier to play for a beginner, and usually have fret indicators (little dots) on the side of the neck. These 2 features make the later probable switch to steel strings easier. Actually, you can get more bang-for-buck in an electric guitar, but the price of the amp eliminates the price advantage, and I think a firm grounding in acoustic is essential, even for a would-be electric guitarist.-Richie
