I bought a MK319 from GC. I am going thru a m-audio mobile pre, so I take it I need to have the phantom power on.
I can plug in an hear my self thru my monitors, and when I try to record I can hear it in my headphones. When I try to play it back the it doesnt record everything (ex: if I record for 25seconds it only has a bar to about 10 seconds) and the sound is some very high pitch like someone is rewinding a tape. The peaks show up and down like it recorded my voice but like I said very high pitched.

Well it isn't the mic....

I would check bit and sample rates on your mobile pre...

more than likely a setting is wrong on that thing...

If not its a setting in your recording software.

Yeah. Sounds like a sample rate mismatch, i.e. you recorded at 44.1, but the output is pushing it out at 96 kHz or something. Since such a state shouldn't be possible, if a restart doesn't clear up the problem, you might end up reinstalling... something... drivers... software... dunno.

See if it happens when you record in another piece of software (download Audacity or other free audio app if you don't have another audio app). If the problem goes away, something is weird with your audio app. Otherwise, my bet would be a driver issue.

Well that seemed to be the problem? I have been using Mixcraft and ever since I updated it last Sunday I have had nothing but problems. Maybe it is time for a new program. I wish I could play Mixcraft songs in other programs instead of having to re-record them.

oh yeah thanks for the help. Are there any free programs that are worth spending time on.

and out of the darkness there came light.... :D

Check the settings of that mixcraft stuff... If it still doesn't work downgrade it..

I heard some people harpin about Ntracks or something like that... I'm not sure if its free but I know it's damned cheap...

Yeah I am thinking about going back to the previous version. Will I lose any of my record takes and songs. Or will it just remove the program

I'm not sure man it depends on how the program saves your songs...
