Mixing and Mastering.
This song is the first song i mixed that is not my own. I just mixed it today in the studio in about 2 hours. Probably a few hicups that people will notice, but those can be ironed out with more studio time.
All comments very welcome.

NOT SEROTONE

And yes i realise it isnt the best MP3 conversion!

lets see
sounds like you may have some minor low problems
maby turn down the bass
give the gits a little more love
try turning the keys down, let them be more of an effect and a mood builder
maby don't limit so hard????
try and use your stereo field better
not so big on the snare sound, but whatever

hope this helps

Not sure what i could do to the stereo field. Do you mean to pan say one guitar to one side and an other to the other side to a certain degree?
I like my mixes to be pretty balanced almost like a mirror image each side, but not quite.
The guitars have a bit too much mids i think.
Not sure what you mean about the snare, do you mean it is too loud or just too god damn fat and chunky and full?
I find it very very hard to master my tracks as im using headphones and i cant judge the very lo end as my Sennheiser HD200s dont have very lo end on them.
Thanks for the reply Giraffe.
I was really looking for anything actually wrong with the mix rather than personal mixing styles, but im apreciateive of your reply as it seems like there isnt really anything wrong with the mix apart from maybe the lo end of the mastering.

I dont know about the mix mate but I really ike the feel of the song.

Guitar sounded really cool, kinda reminded me of sonic youth. I dont know if it was the quality of the mp3 but it sounded quite ethereal and droney - something I really dig, reminded me of my drug phase when I used to listen to My Bloody Valentine and Cocteu Twins.

Though, I didnt like the drum bit at the start.

don't ask if you don't want an opinion

I just listened to the better quality and I think the vocals should be lower in the mix, ala, the verve - storm in heaven. l

ol, I didnt realise it wasnt yours, give the boys a pat on the back.

"don't ask if you don't want an opinion"

I did want an opinion that is why i asked. Not too sure what you mean, your kinda confusing. I am apreciative of you taking time to listen and comment on my mix, i never said i wasnt!!
I just said that i was looking to find out if there was anything that jumped out as being actually wrong. I just wasnt sure what you were meaning by the comments, more detail would mean i could understand better.
