Some of the guys around here might remember it, most of you won't. LOL Just wanting to get some feedback on the mix to see if I'm heading in the right direction. I've been playing around with Reaper lately and using a lot of different plug ins to mix with. ( I used to mix straight out of the box on my Fostex VF 16).

Anyway, just trying to get a handle on this computer mixing.

The song is a smooth jazz type guitar instrumental( A departure from my normal southern rock/pop/rock  ). Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Very nice tune, and great performances... mix is nice & clear, I like hearing all the different guitar parts, top tones, that's a great clean sound. On headphones my impression is the mix is weighted towards the left - maybe the bass is slightly down that side? Good stuff

Nice flow to this tune. A lot going on in the stereo field, sounds good. I read bulls comment about everything leaning to the left side and thought it was leaning right, but realized I have my headphones on backwards. Anyway, yeah sounds like the bass leans to one side, if true you should probably mix that up center. I especially like that clean lead tone, sounds bouncy and interesting. Just my opinion, but I think this tune would end better as a stop and not a fade out. ANyway, cool listen

Really enjoyed your playing here...listening on headphones and the mix does seem to favor one side a bit strongly. Very cool guitar tone, and great picking!

Nice dude....excellent playing...you fucking smoke. (rock...:D)

If I was to dink with the tune, I might compress teh overall mix to see if I could even some of teh sounds out...not too much, as you don't want to bury the lead lines, but it does seem to sit a bit on top of teh rhythm parts. See if you can find that fine line to make it a more cohesive mix....but the overall vibe kicks. Nice dude....

Nice playing. The snare sounds a little too loud overall for the mix and the guitars (rhythm) in the intro a few db's low. I'm not too sure about the lead guitar tone myself....a personal matter, to me it sounds a little over processed. Synthetic maybe??

Once again nice playing! :)

Thanks for the ears guys. So the general overall concensus is that the mix is a little heavy to the left, especially the bass? I'll have to blame that on the Waves and Izotope plug ins that I was playing around with. :D

Thanks for the comments, pats on the back and suggestions. It's much appreciated!

J-Station clean channel with just a tad too much compression.:o It was the closest I could come to finding the sound I heard in my head. I tried my amd, but just couldn't seem to dial in anything remotely close to that over processed , guitar sound that's been on the Smooth Jazz airwaves for the last few years.:D
