New Mic

Hello Everyone and happy new year almost. :)

am kinda looking for a new mic.. but i dont know which one to pick tho..

i got an old shure SM58 :)

i been kinda looking at a shure SM87A (the price is a bit high but i dont know) and been looking at a rode S1 (cheap price) but i dont know what good or diffrent beween those two.. i been down the store 2 dfirrent ppl says go for the shure and the other says go for the rode... now am not sure..

am useing for like singing online and karaoke.

hope someone can help

What don't you like about the 58?

A couple of things about mics...
They're kinda like shoes....as in...they either fit your voice or they don't.

Also when looking, read up on "phantom power"
Condenser mics need it.
Dynamics (like the 58) don't.
Phantom may also read as "48 volt".

If you're board or interface doesn't have phantom, a condenser won't do you any good.

I got Phantom Power I Got the TC Helicon Create and Correct Mixer .. forgot to put that in
 
Like DB states you have to try out some microphones to see if it fits.
Most stores that have thier mics on display will let you try them out there.
I know that GC has many different ones on display go to one and check them all out.
Then go on line and find your best prices.
