hi there.
after investing in my home studio, i am very pleased with the reults i am getting. ive mainly been focusing on a nice drum sound, so most money has gone on drum mics etc. i want to enhance the quality of vocals now.
as i am still learning about the concept of home recording, i was hoping for some advice. this is what i want:
a nice, warm mic preamp, one channel, possibly two. i have a fair amount of money, but not bundles of the stuff. i know, generally in this kind of hobby, money is quality. i could probably get around £200-£300 together though. if the preamp had some sort of equalisation on it also, this would be nice, but not a nesessaty.
i know this is probably a vary vaigue question, but i really dont know what to look 4. any advice on ideas people have on different pre's, or even advice on what to look for in a good preamp would be greatly appreciated. sorry if this seems very ameturish!

Steve

Do a search - this has been answered many times, you're bound to get the info you want.

You are going to get as many answers to that question as there are flavours of ice cream.
Ultimately, you're going to have to decide.
Go to the music store. Audition some. Pick the one you like best.

From what I've listened to

Hi,

I just wnated to let you know that I heard a good R&B mix made through a MXL V69ME Micrphone and a Meumann TLM 103 MIc both run through an API Audio 3124 Pre. They both sounded awesome. Don't know what that would cost you where you are, but check them out.
