How are you trying to play back your recording? You should be able to simply plug in a pair of headphones and hit the play button. If you want to play the recordings on something like a computer, you need to transfer the files to your system. You can use either USB (The audio files are in the MUSIC folder) or via WIFI using the DR Transfer program.

Thank you. I will try to figure that out.

Most of these hand held recorders function as an "Audio Interface" via USB and so can be accessed on a computer. You will need some form of audio software (called a Digital Audio Workstation) but I would guess that Tascam came with something to download or suggested something, possibly Audacity which is about the simplest to use and just about everyone here knows it.

You can also almost certainly access the audio files from the unit on USB as a "Mass Storage Device" where you would copy over the files as you would from a phone, camera or USB stick. These files will show up as ".wav" or possibly "MP3" and again can be played in a DAW.

Dave.
