Hello again people...it's always a pleasure to post something for your review.

I need to edit it a bunch and change up the drums...some of which I've already done, and I've since taken off all reverb of the main voice and cut back the backing voice, but I wanted to know what you think. I seem to have trouble making differnet parts of the song sound different, but you tell me.

I would like to hear this without the verb. It's a little overdone here, as you already noticed.

The drums sound pretty groovin'. The guitars fit nicely in the mix. I especially like the instrument breaks with acappella vox. that's always a nice momentum builder.

the bad news is it felt a little boring to me. Nothing here is badly recorded or played but it doesn't scream "listen to me again", if you know what I mean. Maybe some alternative instrumentation would help. Something like a keyboard or trumpet melody hook intertwined in there somewhere. Something hum-able or whistle-able.

that's what I'm thinking.

Ya, I was kind of thinking that as well...it's a little slow and a lot of it has the same sound. I might try and just keep adding instruments, and change up the drums/pacing in the middle for a break. I was kind of going for the sparcing instruments though. I think I just need to change things so I'm not playing the exact same thing throughout (this has been a bit of an issue with me)...

This may sound stupid, but is it possible to write successfull songs that aren't overly catchy? Most of my songs end up sounding like the Beatles or something along those lines, and I was trying to get away from that "overly catchy" sound. I end up sounding too bee boppy 99% of the time. Any ideas?

I do that too. I have a five minute three chord song with no harmonic changes. It's very tricky to pull off.

well, successful is a subjective term here, isn't it? Can you sell songs that aren't catchy? Only if your last song was really catchy and the sucker hasn't heard the new one. Actually, catchy to me means memorable, which is the fundamental thing I aim for in writing. I guess that means my answer is no. Now, if I bypass semantics and suggest that by catchy, you mean a little too "Love me Do" bubblegum, than you most definitely can have a memorable song without the saccharine. For instance, one might argue that Radiohead or the Sex Pistols have a not so syrupy sound that remains popular across the genres. they both used hooks generously and you can too.

For this song, I also imagined a bit of a Cake type edge to it. That's why I think I said trumpet bit before. whatever you decide to do with it, I'll keep my eyes peeled for a v2.0

Nice beat......drums sound good.....guitar is a bit buried....and so is the bass for that matter.....vox has a wee bit too much low-mids.......gets a little repititious....definitely needs something to break it up. Has some nice spots in it....just needs a little more.

Nothing new to add here, but I'll reinforce what you've heard.

Could use added instrumentation. Even just a dirty electric half-way through would do wonders for dynamic buildup.

The drums sound great but they're pretty busy. I'd start with them more simple and build to what you have now.

It sounds like it's recorded well to me. I think the levels are pretty good too.

Just Don't Get It-Yea,this is cool .NICE Recording!Groovy tune,too.The RIDE is too loud ands sounds too fake.Good recording.Lyrical content very good.Needs a remix.Guitar up ,vox down a little.Good work.
Get Home-Right away the guitars don't sound as good in this one.Too much reverb on the vox.Bass too loud.Not as good as the first song,but I really like your style and your voice.Nice composition and arrangement and again lyrics.Get a better ride(tons free on the net).Really nice harmonies.Great potential.
