I have sent you a private message a week ago or so, didn't you receive it? No. i am no professional recording engineer, i think you will hear the flaws in the recording i postet very soon, it is far from pro level, believe me. i used to make a living as a trumpet player/teacher and actually hold a master in music, but that surely doesn't mean that my playing would be anything more than mediocre. Today i am only half time musician, rest of the time i am "house man" as my wife had more luck with her career than i. But i am still playing about 2-4 times a week in the local jazz club and besides try to document as good as i can what is going on here in the music scene (learning by doing...).
But i really think we should use the privat messenge option or email in order to not create too much "noise" on this board!

and anyone that can possibly shed any new light on my dilema over the next few days please feel free to do so! i see clear steps to getting the quality i want, but i ALSO see my lack of funds. right now the mission at hand is to do this, for the least amount of cash... but isnt that always the mission?

congrats! now we want to hear some samples soon!
BTW you might try to use the channel inserts to connect the board to your soundcard, this way you are bypassing a great part of the mixer circuit and get even less noise.
