Hello.

With new satellite radio services, pod-casting , mp3 & I-pod players,
elevator/restaurant/ workplace ambience / mood venues, Indie Film,
cheap TV programs and low power Radio broadcast stations......
You'd think there would be "talent" scouts scouring hayfields for undiscovered,
and CHEAP music .... and other CONTENT....

or do you have to get arrested nude, with dwarfs and a Zebra, in a display window somewhere near a Starbucks* .... To get into this part of the business as well ? ( * that last part could be a rumor )

The easier it is for people to record and distribute music, the more music there is to go through. While there may be more good music, simple because there is more music in general, it's harder to find the good stuff...because there is more music in general.
