Hi. I had to replace my motherboard last week (a condenser on the old one ruptured). The new board's a Gigabyte, like the old one, but the new one uses DDR RAM - that seems to be the main difference. Still Pentium 4, still 512 RAM, and nothing else in the system is new. I'm running Win 98.
Here's the problem: loads of really serious stuttering in my audio program. I've tinkered with the buffers, but this is way more serious than that. Any ideas?
Oh, and a related problem: in my word processor, there's a time lag as well that didn't use to be there - I'll type a handful of characters and they won't appear on the screen for maybe two or three seconds sometimes.
Any ideas? Drivers issue? Small incompatibility with Win 98? Gremlins?
