Well, maybe not an old problem, but in the recent past. I have posted some comments about MIDI and Home recording being cheap. And yes I guess it is the debate about Home Recording versus Studio Recording. But, I guess it all pertains to what kind of equipment you have. I have tried some new things out, and I have come up with a whole lot better sounds. I am using a Roland SC- D70 sound canvas, through my 700Processor computer. Monitors are MAckie SRM450's, a sure MIC, Guitar, Bass and old kimball organ. Also I am using GTpro software from Cakewalk with revalver amp simulater on editing. HAven't tried Mic yet. But I must challange my earlier comments about Home recording being cheap. After some experimintation I have come with some really neat sound. It is clearer, after placing my Guitars, and Bass in a diagonal position to the recording equipment, Computer, sound canvas, etc...etc... I reduce hum from feedback of the Guitars pickups a whole lot. I have reduced the Hum from the Organ also. I run it through the sound canvas into the Guitar plug in. The Organ isn't MIDI. By the way, does anyone know if I can convert my organ to MIDI. It is an Electronic organ. I also use the Revalver simulator to edit my Instruments. I will have to say, it sounds better than my Guitar amp. I also use Inst+Wave when mixing down on my Roland SCD-70. Well, I am getting better results. My monitors are in a seperate room, to reduce EMI. Any comments for better sound, let me know. Thanks!
