yo what's goood. I' just joined here after lookin on da net for some recording info. me and my boys was talkin bout startin a lil indi label and studio so we can drop our albulm. we all still in high school, but been doin music for a long ass time(especially me). I'm runnin da whole opperation so that's why i'm here, to gain knowledge on recording. We all rap, and i also make beats, and were real serious about this, i really think when were up and runnin we can really make an impact in music. I'ma semi newbie i know a little, but not nearly enough to make pro quality stuff, so i'm always open to suggestions. (even if they somthin i don't want to here) we got a budget of 3 geez (from hustlin) and we ready to set up the studio, for beats we gonna use the mpd 16 drum pads and my yamah keyboard.(what software to use with the mpd 16)and for vocals we gonna use a rode nt1a mic and a focusrite limiter compressor mic pre. I aint sure for the soundcard but my homies said to get a custom computer, but we don't know what to get. below is what i think we need please can you suggest what' will give us the best quality for what we doin the max we spendin for the pc is 1000.

mothaboard
processor
ram
3 hard drives(1 for system 1 for audio 1 for samples)

oh and i did some lookin around and from what i understand if i wanna a fast daw then get a amd 64 istead of a petium 4

Hey Push,

Going forward you will get a LOT of blowback if you can't communicate. Lots of knowledge here, but little patience. It's worth your while to work on it. Even Snoop Dog can talk well when he needs to, and if you find success, you'll do better if you can speaka da eddicated lingo.

There a million wannabe 'producers'. Stay humble, you'll go farther, faster.
 
Put it this way--just by the way you phrase your question and talk about yourself makes me NOT want to answer your questions. I'm probably not the only one either.

here's a friendly word of advice- if you want people to take you seriously, you need to learn to speak clearly and intelligently. I got some flames a while back for responding negatively to a similar post from someone. I know you're in high school and you probably think it's cool and clever to wite in "raplish", but just ask what you want in plain english and stop trying to be cool. Save that for your music.

track pusha and $trackmoney$, if they're not the same guy, should have a conversation. I wouldn't be able to understand a word of it, but maybe they could help each other out. :o

an AMD 64 system would be da bomb. you can get lots of tracks with good software. 512 megs ram to start, and I'd go with Windows XP Professional for the operatings system. I'm not sure you'll need 3 drives though....I'm using 2 - 120 gigs drives and it works for me. One with the OS and progs, the other for all audio files. You can put da samples on the the audio files drive and that should work fine for ya.

Do a search in the forums here - lots of good info for the beginning audio stuff.
