i know, that i'm up against a formidable producer, but i'll enjoy the battle, i peeped his joint, and it is hot, i never heard the original though. he mention 36 mafia, is chicken head the one with that sample, or is it azz and titties?

What up JUG?

I'ma up mines in few when I get back to the house. Man I really can't call it... We are in the same boat on this one. "Grimey east coast"... Man i'm from the deepest of the deep south... Damn they gave us a flipper...

I'm trying to peep your beat but this cats media player is trippin on hifi.

Good luck to ya though... Peace...

P.S. Peep the sample battle in the BEAT PRODUCTION area at THE WOMB. That's where the sample is at.... 3 6 used it in a song SUMMERTIME or some shit.... Shit is a bangin mellow cut 3 6 style...

Peace.

thanks for the info

yeah lazi, they hit me up on this one, in my opinion i think it has a hip hop swing to it and not a grimey feel, i just got back in town friday. when i went to new orleans to visit my grandmother, i stopped through gulfport for a minute. my mother and brothers stay in gulfport. they been there for like seven years now. i never moved out of new orleans with them. i let my partner hold the triton down yesterday, so i don't have all of the tools to go back into the lab with. i can try and flip some loops, but i think i'll let this one ride, after all it is for learning purposes. i think if i have to do a techno beat that would be even more challenging.
can't wait to peep your joint, i'll holla back @cha.

Diggin' that sample there, man.

Lovin' tha military feel to it.

I just listened 2 Lazi's joint - now I'm not sure which way ta' tip my vote.

what's up

thanks for the feedback abyyss, are you workin on some bangaz? i'm about to get back into the lab, i was in maryland for the week that just ended, the week before that i was in new orleans. i'm ready to get back to work now.

Well, I did some production 4 tha collab w/ flossy, etc. But I'ma concentrate on usin' other people's beats as I just don't have decent sounds - an' I ain't got the money 2 buy some decent ones (saw this tight grand piano VST on a site - would do every piano need an' sounded great [$200:(] an' an orchestra almost every instrument imaginable [$1k+:(:(:(:(]).

So I'm workin' on the MC tip - once I've got this collabo done spittin' (finished writin' my verse, I think - might post the lyrics up so y'all can comment 'fore I rec. 'em) I'ma get this joint wit one of ma' homies from ma' group (try to persuade him 2 sign up here as well :)) which is gonna be sooooooooo tight (I'm chokin' just thinkin' 'bout it, man don't know if I'll eva have such a cool concept - loadza thought inta' it, u can listen to it a good few times an' notice summit different each time (can't decide on a title yet - wanna help? http://www.abyyss.tk) <- I also need ta' finish my site an' get this "Facetious Army" thing set up, which is basically an idea I had - get artists to work together an' support each otha kinda a community, collabin' quite a bit an' stickin' up 4 each otha - or, say someone wanted ta' push a CD, then they would all like advertise it. Then I'ma get this joint I've been meanin' ta' do 4 ages (don't look @ tha date! :D). Then I'ma spit ta' Lazi's "The Only Sun" 'coz it's mandatory (or whateva tha word is) - then maybe do that Sol joint that I was gonna do 4 his comp. that (from what I hear) died, 'coz that were aight. Then a couple-a tracks wit my group (still don't know what we gonna call ourselves been usin' "Untitled", but now I'm thinin' "LS25" 'coz we're all from the same town in Leeds and that's at the start of all our postcodes - what d'u think?). Then prob. collab wit anyone who wants to. I'm throwin' myself @ everythin' now.

And then I remembered that I got exams next week so I really should be revisin' (unless I wanna fail :()

Well, u did ask :D

Grimey East Coast Beat

Pro'ly a bit late but I think sol's Night Life is a perfect example of the type of beat ya'll gotta do (BTW, probably gonna rip this up too ;))

that's a cool beat, but the tricky thing is. what is (grimey) everyone has thier own opinion of a grimey cut. some people may feel instruments may make a song grimey, others may feel tempo and arrangement. i think a combo of all of the above. sol's beat is a perfect example, you look at it as grimey and i look at is as malancholic.

great minds work alike. me chalin, and hi_d_ho_man have been discussin the same thing, but not through website but the idea is to do it through the internet. a webpage is a good idea, it brings more versatility and movement to the whole thing.

Yeah I think I got the best of both worlds comming up. I'm from I was raised in miami and south carolina by fam from Newyork. My mom is from newyork and my pops is from Miami. My pops wasn't around long enough so you can tell where my major influences come from. I feel ya though. It's hard to do when you didn't come up on it. I've done some production for my man J-cin from the natti (Cincinatti)that was pretty southern fried. Good experience for you guys glad yall had fun with it.
