New Interface or new pre?

I'm not sure what I should really do at this point. Upgrade my interface or get a pre. I'm considering the RME Fireface 800 for an interface, which has built in pre's and the Great River ME1NV, which is a single channel Neve 1073 clone that gets pretty good reviews.

I have also considered the Mackie 400f but I've heard there are some issues with the hardware and the RME is rock solid from what I've heard (or read, as it may be).

Right now, I have an M-Audio Delta 1010. It works for me pretty well. I used to have a VTB-1 but I got rid of it because I expected to replace it pretty quickly. But that hasn't been the case because I'm a bit of a procrastinator.

I also got rid of my monitors but that's another story and I know I'm replacing those with Mackie HR824's.
 
I've got to chime in on this because this upgrade has often been a bit of a quandary for me too. With the nicer standalone preamps you get all these nice features like hi-pass filter, phase reversal, impedance selector, pad, etc. but no digital out. For the most part you don't get these features on a computer recording interface. So then I start thinking stand-alone converters in addition to a nice preamp but then the costs go through the roof. Back to the recording interface / mixer interface (which is what most of them are) no nice bells & whistles, very few of them with inserts, no hi pass, etc. I just think that manufacturers have not made yet a computer recording interface that satisfies me, the 400F came close though. Most likely I just don't have enough money!
